FAQ
How accurate is the app?
The accuracy depends on your device's microphone quality. While smartphone microphones have improved significantly, this app is designed for reference purposes and cannot replace professional-grade sound level meters.
Why do I need to grant microphone permission?
The app needs microphone access to measure ambient sound levels. All processing is done locally on your device, and no audio is recorded or transmitted.
How can I calibrate the app?
Go to Settings and adjust the calibration offset. For best results, compare readings with a known reference or professional meter and adjust accordingly.
Can I export my measurement data?
You can share individual measurement results as text or images using the share function in the app.
What do the different colors mean?
Green indicates safe levels (under 70 dB), yellow shows moderate levels (70-85 dB), and red warns of potentially harmful levels (above 85 dB) that may cause hearing damage with prolonged exposure.
